From September 28 to October 4, a team of Ukrainian chefs from the Morskyi Dim underwent training in Japan as part of a joint Ukrainian-Japanese veteran support project organized by the Morskyi Dim in partnership with ABC Cooking Studio and with the support of JETRO, JICA, and the Japanese government.
Training, interesting meetings, and sharing of experience
Our chefs are experienced professionals who have deepened their skills under the guidance of the best Japanese masters. In November, they will pass on this knowledge to Ukrainian veterans during a series of culinary master classes in Japanese cuisine. The goal of the project is not only training, but also social support and creating new opportunities for veterans through gastronomy.
During our visit, we had the honor of meeting with Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Yuriy Lutovynov.
This meeting was yet another confirmation that cooking — it is not only about taste, but also about diplomacy, mutual respect and joint development of countries.
The week in Japan was full of discoveries:
participation in master classes of Japanese chefs,
visiting restaurants of traditional cuisine,
acquaintance with Japanese culinary schools,
a trip to the legendary tuna auction.
It was a real exchange of cultures and professional approaches, which inspires to create new gastronomic opportunities in Ukraine.
We sincerely thank ABC Style, JICA, JETRO, the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan and all partners for supporting Ukraine and trusting our initiative. This project unites education, culture and business for an important social mission - helping Ukrainian veterans.
We believe that cooking is a language that unites peoples and inspires joint development.
And today this language sounds Ukrainian-Japanese.
