The Art of Ramen: Master Class for Students of Vasylkiv Vocational Lyceum

Support and development of young professionals — an important part of the mission of the Morskyi Dim. That is why we are pleased to organize a professional master class «The Art of Ramen: Authentic Recipes» for 1st year students of the KNZ KOR Vasylkiv Vocational Lyceum, studying in the specialty «Cook. Confectioner».

Secrets of Ramen from the Professionals

The master class was held by Evgeny Bogdanov — sous chef of brand chef Ilya Chervenko, who has many years of experience in the field of Japanese gastronomy. He shared with the students a deep understanding of the processes of making ramen and his own practical experiences.

«Japanese cuisine — is more about a philosophy that must be felt and understood at the level of instincts. Ramen — is not just a dish, it is the result of many years of improving techniques and recipes» — shared Yevgeny Bogdanov with the participants of the master class.

The participants learned:

  • how to prepare classic broths for different types of ramen. The complexity of the broth — the basis of ramen, which is cooked for at least 8 hours, where each ingredient has its role in creating a deep, multi-layered taste. The right broth — is a real art that cannot be recreated without many years of experience.

  • what ingredients provide a harmonious taste balance. Each component requires precise dosage and selection to balance the entire dish.

  • how to work with noodles. There are different options for ramen noodles, which differ in texture and thickness. It is important to choose the right one so that it perfectly absorbs the broth and retains its elasticity.

«It was incredibly interesting! I had no idea how much is hidden in the preparation of ramen. Now I understand why it is so popular in Japan and around the world!» — one of the participants of the master class shared her impressions.

Investment in the Development of Future Chefs

The master class aroused lively interest among the students. Future chefs listened to professional information with great enthusiasm and took an active part in the process. And the moment of tasting became a real gastronomic event — for many it was the first experience of real Japanese ramen.

We are convinced that training the young generation of chefs — is a contribution to the development of the entire restaurant industry in Ukraine. Engaging students in the culture of other cuisines of the world broadens their professional horizons and prepares them for new challenges of modern gastronomy.
