Authentic Taste of Japan — for Future Restaurant Business Students

On April 25, the Morskyi Dim team visited the Department of Restaurant and Craft Technologies at DTEU to hold a gastronomic master class for students of the Faculty of Technology and Business. The event took place in the restaurant technology laboratory, where the brand chef of the Morskyi Dim Ilya Chervenko presented the topic “The Art of Ramen: Authentic Recipes from Japan”.

Brand Chef Ilya Chervenko?

Ilya Chervenko — a key figure in the world of Japanese gastronomy in Ukraine. He is a graduate of AJSA Sushi Skills Institute in Tokyo and Le Cordon Bleu London, holds a Head Chef certificate from the All Japan Sushi Association and won the World Sushi Cup Japan 2013. His approach is a harmonious combination of traditional Japanese techniques with adaptation for a European audience.

Ramen preparation: from theory to tasting

During the master class, Ilya demonstrated the process of creating two types of ramen — Miso and Shoyu, using traditional meat broth, fresh noodles, egg, nori, wood mushrooms and soy sauce from our range.

The participants of the event had the opportunity to observe the cooking process, learn the secrets of rich broth and balance of umami taste, as well as taste real Japanese ramen.

The event was attended by 30 students of the 1st and 2nd years, who enthusiastically discovered the world of Pan-Asian cuisine. The atmosphere was lively and inspiring: students asked questions, discussed recipes, and received invaluable knowledge from a professional with international experience.
