Bamboo mat – also known as mat or makisu. The mat is straight bamboo planks that are tightly fastened together. It is used to form sushi rolls. They can give the roll any shape: round, square or even triangular.
Before using the mat, we recommend wrapping it with a regular cling film, which should be thrown away after use. In this way, rice will NOT get stuck between the boards and the mat will not get dirty with other ingredients. If it is still necessary to wash the mat – leave it open until completely dry.
